As Christians we believe that God created this earth and he instructed us to care for it and we know that his creation is precious to Him and we desire to please Him by taking care it. We have duty and a reason to care for our planet.

We are looking at things that we can do to reduce our impact on the environment.

Recycling

As the city council treats us as “commercial building” we do not have a recycling collection but we are committed to trying to recycle as much waste as we can. Our members are encouraged to take recycling home and some members are supporting this by managing recycling collection “bins” on the premises.

Paper

We are looking at ways of reducing our paper usage and using electronic means to publish documents.

Air Pollution

In collaboration with Air Apparent we have installed a pollution sensor on our premises. Our location is near one of the primary routes through the south of the city making it ideal to monitor how the traffic in the area impacts air quality.

The sensor is a low cost, home build device that senses Particulate matter (usually known as PM10 and PM2.5) .

The levels of PM10 and PM2.5 recorded by the sensor can be found on the map at luftdaten.info. Clicking on the sensor (hexagon) shows historical recordings
