We believe, “God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.”

We would love to share this good news with you, and seek to answer any questions you may have.

What the Bible Teaches on some Key Topics in Church Life

These statements reflect our ethos on some subjects that are important in church life, giving our understanding of what the Bible says about how we should live. Follow the links to get to the FIEC website and see the full statements we subscribe to.

Marriage

We celebrate marriage as a gift from God and as an illustration of the relationship of Jesus Christ with his church (Ephesians 5:31-32). Marriage is a man and woman bound together in a life long covenant relationship. Only within such a relationship can sexual activity be enjoyed as God intended (Genesis 2:24).

Gospel Unity

We rejoice in the promise of God that there will be a multitude from all over the World worshipping the Lord Jesus Christ together (Revelation 7:9-10). This Christian unity is at the heart of the purposes of God, and is established through the Gospel. As a result the Bible requires us to stand apart from those who deny the core truths of the gospel (Titus 1:9).

Women in Ministry

We value the service and gifts of both men and women as essential for the proper functioning of the church. All are created in the image of God, and are made one in Christ Jesus (Genesis 1:27 & Galatians 3:28). Their roles are complementary, so that whilst women may teach in many circumstances, the primary leaders and teachers of the church are to be suitably qualified men (1 Timothy 3:12).
